More Hunts

Hunt Elk (Wapiti)

Elk are the largest-bodied deer species available in New Zealand and can carry massive antlers ranging from 300 to 550 inches! Wapiti were initially shipped to New Zealand as a gift from U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt and were set free on the SW corner of the South Island in 1905. We access an incredible population of trophy elk!

DATES:

New Zealand elk hunting season stretches from February to August. The elk rut coincides with the red stag rut (mid-March through April).

PRICE:

Approx starting from: $3,500.

Hunt Arapawa Ram

New Zealand’s famed wild Arapawa sheep were initially liberated near the top of the South Island as a food supply for seafaring whalers and seal hunters. Today, Arapawa rams are a popular New Zealand hunting trophy with distinctive curling horns, beautiful woolly coats, and they make surprisingly gorgeous shoulder mounts.

DATES:

All year-round.

PRICE:

Approx: $1500.

Hunt Pacific Goat

Wild goats are plentiful in parts of New Zealand and a trophy goat (30+ inches) is a unique prize. Goats exist in a wide range of colors and are popular with some hunters for their meat. Older billies can be notoriously elusive if they’ve been previously pressured by a hunter.

DATES:

All year-round.

PRICE:

Approx: $850.

Hunt Wild Boar

Wild pigs are common in certain parts of the South Island. New Zealand’s wild pigs are commonly black (and are historically referred to as ‘Captain Cookers’ due to their NZ origins), though a range of colors can be found here. Pigs can be hunted with or without dogs and are often prized for their meat. Pigs are often spotted while pursuing other game animals like red stag or fallow deer.

DATES:

All year-round.

PRICE:

Approx: $1150

Hunt Wallaby

Wallaby populations have seen significant recent growth in New Zealand and they are considered a pest as they compete with stock for food sources. Their exploding populations are significant given that they can reach a meter in height and weigh up to 25 kg! Wallaby hunting is a truly unique New Zealand hunting adventure and can make a great stand-alone experience or add-on to a big game hunt.

Bonus Inclusions:

  • Basic station accommodations

  • Meals in the hunt area

DATES:

All year-round.

PRICE:

Approx: $800 per hunter (an overnight hunt).

Rabbit and Hare Night Hunting

Like wallabies, rabbits and hares are considered pests in New Zealand due to high population numbers. Join us for an evening of hunting and shooting to practice your aim and quick trigger!

Bonus Inclusions:

  • Use of firearm and ammunition.

DATES:

All year-round.

PRICE:

Approx: $350 per hunter.

Small Game Hunting

Three evenings of hunting for wallaby, turkey, rabbit, hare, possum, and any pigs or goats sighted. Generally equates to a lot of shooting.
